Hannah Monteith,BSc Hons MC OPTOM DIP TP
Optometrist
Hannah Monteith BSc Hons MC OPTOM DIP TP, Qualified in 2014 in Scotland. Been working in Bermuda for over 2 years. Hannah is a Specialist refractive optometrist, who had previously worked for the U.K’s number one provider of laser eye surgery. She also has extensive experience with both pre and post op refractive surgery appointments. Ms. Monteith further qualified as an Independent Prescribing Optometrist in July 2021 allowing her to diagnose and prescribe medications for many ocular condtitions.
Jiney Caines, OD
Optometrist
Dr. Jiney Caines received her Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University in Anatomy and Cell Biology. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. Dr. Caines has successfully passed the US National Board Exam (NBEO), Canadian National Board Exam (CSAO) and is a TPA-certified optometrist, able to treat and manage ocular disease with Therapeutic Pharmacological Agents.
Upon completion of her studies she returned to Canada where she practiced optometry throughout the Greater Toronto Area for 11 years. Having been born and raised in Bermuda, Dr. Caines decided to return home in 2025 and looks forward to continuing serving the community that shaped her.
In addition to family primary eye care, Dr. Caines’ clinical experience includes contact lens fitting, LASIK consults, post-cataract surgery care and Dry Eye Disease management.
Outside of work, Dr. Caines enjoys Pilates, cooking, and traveling.
Claire Cartmill, OD
Optometrist
Ms. Claire Cartmill is a highly experienced optometrist with over 20 years in clinical practice. Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland, she earned a BSc (Hons) in Optometry (MCOptom) from Glasgow Caledonian University before going on to build a diverse and accomplished career in eye care.
Now based in Bermuda for over 14 years, Ms. Cartmill practices at our sister location Bermuda Optical, where she is known for her friendly, patient-focused approach. She has particular expertise in complex contact lens fitting, especially for patients with keratoconus, and provides a range of advanced clinical services including LASIK pre-and post-operative consultations, post-cataract refraction, and diabetic retinopathy screening.
Outside of her professional work, Claire enjoys Pilates, baking, and spending quality time with her daughter.
